Quick start

Design an M30 mix to IS 10262:2019 for severe exposure, with OPC 53 cement, 20 mm angular aggregate, 100 mm slump and a water-reducing admixture.

  1. Select the IS 10262:2019 code tab at the top.
  2. In Target & Exposure, set Target Grade (MPa) to M30 and Exposure Class to Severe. Leave Standard Deviation blank so the code default applies.
  3. Open Materials. Set cement Type to OPC 53 Grade, fine aggregate Zone to Zone II (Medium), coarse aggregate Max Size (mm) to 20 mm and Shape to Angular.
  4. Open Workability and set Slump (mm) to 100 mm.
  5. Tick Use Chemical Admixture and keep Dosage (% cement) at 1.0 and Water Reduction (%) at 15.
  6. Select Design Mix.

Codes and standards

  • IS 10262:2019
  • ACI 211.1
  • BS 8500 / EN 206

Inputs

  • Grade, exposure, slump (25–200 mm), maximum aggregate size (10–40 mm), aggregate shape, grading zone, cement type.

Outputs and exports

  • Proportions per m³, trial batches, grading and QC panels, optimisation and comparison.
  • Exports: PDF and Excel report.

Limits

  • Proportions are a starting point for trial mixes; confirm by trial batches.
