Septic Tank Designer

Size a septic tank to IS 2470 (Part 1) for a 20-person household at 120 litres per person per day, desludged every 2 years.

  1. Under Design Code / Country, select India.
  2. In Occupancy, enter Number of users 20 persons and Sewage per capita 120 L/day.
  3. In Detention & Sludge, enter Detention period 24 hours, Sludge per capita / yr 76.65 L/yr and Cleaning interval 2 years.
  4. In Geometry, enter Liquid depth 1.5 m, Length : Width ratio 3 and Freeboard 0.3 m.
  5. Select Size Tank.

Codes

  • IS 2470 (Part 1) with CPHEEO per-capita flows. The country selector shows the matching US (EPA 625) and EU (EN 12566) references.

Limits

  • The sizing is always to IS 2470; the country selector changes the cited references, not the numbers.
